Toyota Hybrid car prices increase in India substantially

Toyota Kirloskar Motor has increased prices of its models that include the Camry Hybrid and the Vellfire Hybrid. The Camry Hybrid that was priced at Rs 37.88 lakh is increased to Rs 39.02 lakh while the price of the Vellfire has been increased to Rs 83.50 lakh, up from Rs 79.50 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom Delhi.

The Toyota Camry Hybrid is powered by a 2.5-litre petrol engine and a self-charging hybrid system. It makes a combined power output of 178 PS and a maximum torque of 221 Nm. The Camry gets a continuously variable transmission (CVT) with paddle shifts and has three driving modes – Eco, Normal and Power. Other features include an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, three-zone automatic climate control, 9-speaker JBL audio system, 10-way power adjustable driver and front passenger seats, nine airbags, parking assist with rear guide monitor, heads-up display and moon roof. The Camry is assembled in India.

On the other hand, the Vellfire Hybrid gets the same 2.5-ltire petrol engine with 115 hp and 198 Nm of torque. The hybrid system gives the Vellfire two electric motors – a 150 kW unit on the front and a 50 kW unit on the rear – and a nickel metal hydride battery. Vellfire offers several premium features like executive lounge seats, dual sunroof, lounge and chauffeur controls, powered front seats, 16-colour ambient lighting, power sliding doors, panoramic view monitor and more. It is a CBU import.

Toyota recently announced a price hike for other models including the Innova Crysta (price increase of Rs 30,000 to Rs 61,000), Fortuner (up by Rs 48,000), Yaris and Glanza.
