Tata Nexon EV – Auto Expo 2020 Live

Tata Motors has finally launched the Tata Nexon EV in the Indian market at a price point of Rs 13.99 lakhs (ex-showroom). 

The Nexon EV comes in three variants, such as XM, XZ+ and the top-end XZ+ LUX variant, priced at Rs 15.99 lakhs (ex-showroom). With Nexon EV, Tata is marking its shift from fleet segment to personal apps. Drive and Sport are two drive modes available at the Tata Nexon EV. 

Coming to the Tata Nexon EV cabin, it gets spacious interiors, premium sound system, and modern design for a tranquil drive experience. The car also features a 7-inch Harman infotainment system which supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. 

Powered by the Ziptron technology, the Tata Nexon EV is an all-electric car using a 127hp permanent magnet AC motor which gets power from a 30.2 kWh li-ion battery. As per Tata, the electric motor generates 245Nm torque and the Nexon EV accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in around 9.9 seconds. On a single charge, the car offers a decent range of over 300 km. 

Speaking of the Tata Nexon EV battery, the charging from 0 to 80 per cent will take 60 minutes on the fast DC charger. Also, the Nexon EV can be charged through a 15-ampere socket; however, the charging duration will be longer. 

The Nexon EV comes with 35 Mobile-App connected features, such as vehicle tracking, remote commands, driving behaviour analytics, remote and navigation diagnostics. The car has a ZConnect App which helps owners in finding out the nearby charging points, set-up speed alerts, TML service stations and track vehicle location.

The Tata Nexon EV gets three colour options – Moonlit Silver, Glacier White and Signature Teal Blue. The Nexon EV will compete with the likes of MG eZS and Hyundai Kona Electric.

The auto manufacturer is planning to retail the all-new Nexon EV across the 60 dealerships in over 22 cities. Along with its group companies, Tata Motors is setting up the first electric vehicle ecosystem in India.
