Bajaj has resumed the production of Chetak and the deliveries too have began. We talk to Nihar Amrute from Pune who got his Chetak Premium electric scooter recently to get his opinion about the scooter so far.
The Chetak website says “Due to Govt. guidance on COVID-19, manufacture of Chetak has currently stopped. If you have already booked a Chetak, you shall receive information on email. New bookings are currently suspended.”
Bajaj Auto has stopped the production of Chetak understandably in the current lockdown situation, but now reports suggest that the deliveries of Chetak have been delayed till September quarter (July – September).
Bajaj became the first major manufacturer in India to launch an electric scooter by resurrecting Chetak brand, and customer deliveries have begun this month. Bajaj made its first electric scooter available to Pune and Bangalore to start with.
Right on the heels of the Chetak launch, Bajaj Auto is working on new Chetak models and the company has already got the prototypes ready. The expansion of the Chetak line-up has been confirmed by Rakesh Sharma, Executive Director, Bajaj Auto.
