Skoda Enyaq Sportline iV customer deliveries begin in the UK

In February 2021, Skoda introduced a new Sportline variant of its flagship electric SUV, the Enyaq iV. Customer deliveries in the first markets, including the UK, have begun.

With a host of exterior and interior changes compared to the standard version, the Enyaq Sportline iV comes in three powertrain variants (depending on the market) – iV 60, iV 80 and iV 80x, all of which offer different performance levels with different powertrains.

Skoda Enyaq Sportline iV Exterior

The Skoda Enyaq Sportline iV is marked out by gloss black highlights around the grille and C-shaped trims of air curtains on the front bumper. Even the window frames, rearview mirrors, roof rails, and rear badges are finished in gloss black. The roof spoiler comes finished in a matt black theme, though. Other exterior highlights of the Sportline variant include full-LED Matrix headlamps and choices of 20-inch Vega and 21-inch Betria black alloy wheels with self-healing tires.

Interior

The Skoda Enyaq Sportline iV looks different on the inside compared to other variants of the electric SUV. The cabin comes with an all-black dashboard with stitched black leatherette, sports seats with integrated headrests finished in Suedia microfiber and leather, and floor mats featuring grey nubuck stitching. In addition to these, the cabin also gets black roof lining and pillars, carbon effect trim on dashboard and door panels, heated leather-wrapped steering wheel with Sportline badging and grey stitching, piano black touches in the centre console, and aluminium pedal covers.

In terms of features, the main highlights of the Skoda Enyaq Sportline iV are drive mode selector button in the centre console with five different options – Eco, Comfort, Normal, Sport and Individual, 13-inch free-standing touchscreen infotainment system, 5.3-inch screen for the digital cockpit and optional head-up display with navigation outputs.

Powertrain

The range of the Skoda Enyaq Sportline iV consists of three powertrain variants: 60 (RWD), 80 (RWD), and 80x (AWD).

The Enyaq Sportline iV 60 has a 132 kW/310 Nm motor, while the Enyaq Sportline iV 80 has a 150 kW/310 Nm motor that makes. The range-topping Enyaq Sportline iV 80x employs two electric motors – one on each axle – thus giving it an all-wheel drive configuration and has a combined power output of 195 kW and 425 Nm. While the iV 60 variant comes with a 62 kW battery, iV 80 and iV 80x variants are blessed with a larger 82 kWh battery.

In the UK, Skoda offers the Enyaq Sportline iV in only the 80 and 80x variants. The Enyaq Sportline iV 80 can accelerate from 0-62 mph in 8.2 seconds, while the Enyaq Sportline iV 80x takes 6.7 seconds for the same. Both have the same top speed of 99 mph. The RWD variant has an energy consumption rating (WLTP) of 3.7 miles/kWh and can deliver a range of 326 miles (WLTP). The AWD variant’s energy consumption rating and range are 3.5 miles/kWh (WLTP) and 303 miles (WLTP), respectively.

Chassis

Compared to the standard version, the Enyaq Sportline iV is underpinned by a sports chassis as standard, including model-specific springs and shock absorbers. The Sportline variants also sit 15 mm lower at the front and 10 mm lower at the rear than the standard Enyaq iV.

Safety

The Skoda Enyaq Sportline iV retains most of the safety features from the standard version. The list includes up to nine airbags, front assist with pedestrian detection and cyclist protection, side assist with rear traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, adaptive lane assist with roadwork recognition, traffic jam assist, and emergency assist with e-Call. It is to be noted that the Skoda Enyaq iV has already secured a five-star rating in Euro NCAP crash tests.

Skoda Enyaq Sportline iV Prices

The Skoda Enyaq Sportline iV’s prices in the UK are GBP 42,915 for the 80 variant and GBP 46,610 for the 80x variant (prices before plug-in grant). Customer deliveries have begun. In the UK, Skoda is not offering the entry-level 60 version.

Optional Crystal Face Grille

The Skoda Enyaq iV gets the new crystal face grille option that has been inspired by the Vision iV concept for the UK market. With more than 130 LEDs arranged into 18 ribs and one horizontal strip, the grille essentially functions as a headlamp when being driven around.

The grille also gets an animated Coming/Leaving Home function that works in conjunction with the LED Matrix headlamp to provide a unique light display whenever the car is switched on or off. Additionally, the bezel around the lights can be configured in either chrome or black.

The Crystal Face Grille comes included in Skoda’s Light and View Plus Package. This package can be opted in any of the iV 80 models starting at £560 for the iV 80 Sportline and iV 80x Sportline and £1675 for the iV 80. All prices include VAT.

Aside from the grille, the pack includes all of the other lighting elements such as the Full LED Matrix headlamps, LED tail lamps with the variable lighting function, Dynamic range control, cornering lights, and headlight washers.

Skoda Enyaq iV 80x SportLine

The Skoda Enyaq iV 80x SportLine is the latest in the Enyaq iV lineup and is also the most powerful. It gets an additional motor on the front axle and the combined 195 kW output allows for a 0-62mph time of just 6.9 seconds. This also makes it the fastest Enyaq iV in the range. Torque as well goes up to 425 Nm, significantly higher than its standard rear-wheel-drive counterparts.

The 80x SportLine also gets the sports chassis as standard, like the RWD variants but the ride height has been lowered by 15 mm at the front and 10 mm at the rear. Skoda says this allows for even better handling thanks to the new lower centre of gravity. Along with this, it also gets Dynamic Chassis Control and Drive mode select as optional extras.

The 80x SportLine gets full LED Matrix headlamps as standard. On the inside, upholstery and roof lining is all-black. The dash gets black synthetic leather with grey contrast stitching and carbon-effect trims. Black sport seats upholstered in Alcantara/Leather with grey piping come standard along with a three-spoke leather sports steering wheel. The lower spoke of the steering wheel also gets a SportLine badge.

The 80x SportLine gets a WLTP certified range of 303 miles with 125kW rapid charging as standard. When connected to a 150kW+ DC rapid charger, the 80x SportLine can charge from 0 per cent to 80 per cent in as little as 38 minutes. A standard 7.2kW output wallbox on the other hand will take 13 hours to charge the car.

Enyaq iV now available to blue light fleet

Skoda has made their first all-electric SUV, the Enyaq iV, available to emergency service customers in the UK. The two power variants – 60 and 80 – will be made available, allowing for a choice between a 62 kWh battery pack and an 82 kWh battery pack.

What makes this enticing for the blue-light fleet is that they can hit their sustainability targets without sacrificing performance. The Enyaq iV’s electric drivetrain is free of many moving parts requiring timely services and changes, such as the transmission and engine oils.

The Enyaq also gets fairly sufficient ground clearance and approach and departure angles allowing for the services to have better reach at their target destinations. Add to that a large boot allowing for emergency equipment being carried around without a problem.

Additionally, the Enyaq comes with a WLTP range of 333 miles on a single charge, which is helpful in case of long shifts. Paired up with the capability to charge from 5-80 per cent in about 38 minutes, emergency services can build on the operational time of the car and enhance fleet efficiencies.

Skoda is also offering a full conversion of the Octavia iV and the Superb iV with their bespoke emergency service conversion. This offers 360-lighting as well as the blue-light communication system integrated directly into the infotainment system.
