Bgauss electric scooter showrooms in Pune & Chennai open

Bgauss expanded the availability of Bgauss electric scooters to two more cities this week – Pune and Chennai. In total, the company is present in five cities in India now and is yet to enter the northern and eastern regions of the country.

The first Bgauss showroom, located in Hyderabad, opened for business on 18.10.2020, and customer deliveries began the same day. A day later, the Bgauss Bengaluru showroom was inaugurated. On the first day, Bgauss received more than 50 bookings in Hyderabad and more than 40 bookings in Bengaluru.

Foraying into the electric two-wheeler segment by launching the BGAUSS B8 & BGAUSS A2 (in a total of 5 variants) in August, Bgauss had revealed expansion plans for both its showrooms and product pipeline.

Speaking to thehindubusinessline.com in August, Hemant Kabra, the Director of RR Global and also the Founder and MD of Bgauss, revealed that the company has already inked a deal for more than seven dealerships at prime locations. With the first Bgauss showroom open in Hyderabad, the plan is to have a sales outlet in Bengaluru, Chennai, Navi Mumbai and Pune next. A Bgauss showroom in Gujarat is also planned.

Kabra had said that Bgauss has shortlisted 108 cities on the basis of population and the penetration of EVs. The company will focus on seven southern and western states where scooters dominate in two-wheeler sales. Exports to Africa, and when the time comes, to ASEAN markets, are also planned.

BGAUSS electric scooter – Upcoming models

As for the next Bgauss launches, the company has started designing two new products and plans to launch them in March 2021 and July 2021. Previously, speaking to timesofindia.indiatimes.com, Kabra told that one of these products will be a performance scooter and the other product will be a B2B customer-focused scooter. B2B electric scooter is a niche segment, but the company has been working closely with companies like DHL, Dominos and Grofers and so it understands the requirements.

The assembly of Bgauss electric scooters takes place at the company’s plant in Chakan, Pune, and the company is planning to produce 80,000 units in FY 2020-21. 10,000 units of Bgauss electric scooters are expected to be sold by July 2021, and the cumulative sales target for three years is 1,00,000 units.

Kabra had said that RR Global truly believes that electric mobility will be the future of transport. The company’s strong background in electrical businesses with robust research and development has complemented their efforts in the EV segment. Kabra further said that there has been a shift with a fast adaptation of technology globally and though the Indian market is in its nascent stage, it offers huge potential and BGAUSS will offer a smart and sensible vehicle solution for the city commute.
