Opel Mokka-e expected to take 25% of total Mokka sales

One of Opel’s most awaited electric vehicles, the Mokka-e, started reaching Opel dealerships earlier this year. The prospective customers can make a prior appointment by phone or online, check out the new Opel Mokka-e at the dealerships, and take test drives. In Germany, the Opel Mokka-e has been made available in four variants – Edition, Elegance, GS Line and Ultimate; the prices start at EUR 34,100.

Exterior

Designed completely from scratch at Opel’s hub in Russelsheim, the Mokka-e is the first model from Opel to wear the brand’s ‘Opel Vizor’ front fascia concept, which will make its way in the other new upcoming models, including the 2022 Opel Astra.

The new Opel Mokka-e is also the first model to get the newly developed IntelliLux LED matrix headlamps and Opel’s new redesigned lightning bolt emblem, apart from getting a centrally placed nameplate on the tailgate.

Interior

The Opel Mokka-e debuts the brand’s new ‘Pure Panel’ design for the display screen, which consists of two different widescreen displays facing towards the driver. While one is a 12-inch screen for the instrument console, the other is a 7.0-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system which includes Multimedia Radio and Multimedia navi systems. There is also a range-topping Multimedia Navi Pro high resolution system on offer, which offers a 10-inch touchscreen unit.

The cabin can be had either with a sporty Alcantara or classic leather upholstery, and features like heated seats, massage function for driver’s seat, and wireless charger in the centre console on board.

Powertrain

Built on Opel’s CMP multi-energy platform, the Opel Mokka-e is offered with a 50 kWh battery and an electric motor which makes 100 kW (136 bhp) of maximum power and 260 Nm of maximum torque. Opel claims a maximum driving range of 324 km (201.3 miles) in a single charge for the Mokka-e (as tested under the WLTP cycle).

The model can be driven in three different drive modes – normal, eco and sport. The car can be charged via high-speed charging and other standard options of a wall box and household socket. The battery of the Mokka-e carries a standard warranty of eight years/160,000 km.

Safety

The Opel Mokka-e is being offered with a host of safety features, such as adaptive cruise control, active lane positioning, electric parking brake, traffic sign recognition, 180-degree rear camera, automatic park assist, side blind spot alert, front collision warning with automatic city emergency braking and pedestrian detection.

Customization options

The Mokka-e can be customized using a range of official accessories. These include rim trip clips in seven different colours for the 18-inch alloy wheels, coloured decorative caps for mirror housings, loading sill for boot lid, personalized interior mirror and white and black design packages for contrast finish for the bonnet, roof and flanks. In addition to these, the Opel Mokka-e can also be had with side steps in the second half of 2021, which can withstand loads up to 140 kg during ingress and egress of passengers.
