New Evoque & Discovery Sport variants launched in India with mild-hybrid

Land Rover has launched the BS-VI compliant petrol versions of the Range Rover Evoque and Land Rover Discovery Sport SUVs with a mild-hybrid system, priced at Rs 57.99 lakh and Rs 59.99 lakh respectively (ex-showroom).

Both the SUVs are powered by the same Ingenium 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that produces 184 kW and 365 Nm of torque supported by a 48-volt mild hybrid system. The Evoque and Discovery Sport are underpinned by the new Premium Transverse Architecture that accommodates the mild hybrid electric vehicle (MHEV) powertrain. The always-on self-charging hybrid system uses a 46.2-volt Lithium-Ion battery and a synchronous claw pole rotor, and assists in the reduction of fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. It uses an engine-mounted belt-integrated starter-generator that prevents loss of energy during deceleration, recovers it and stores it in an under-floor battery.
