MG ZS EV receives 2,409 bookings, price reveal tomorrow

MG Motor India has reported that it has received 2,409 bookings for its electric SUV, ZS EV in 27 days. The company has received over 2,800 bookings but will cater to 2,409 bookings that it received from cities where the ZS EV will initially be launched that include Delhi/NCR, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, and Hyderabad.

The company has announced that it will reveal the price of the SUV on 23 January.

Most of the bookings for ZS EV came from the IT sector with Bengaluru leading the sales followed by Hyderabad. 40% of the bookings were made online indicating the digital shift in the customer buying behaviour. Apart from setting a record for pre-launch bookings for an electric vehicle in India, MG became the first automotive company to close bookings for a product even before announcing its price.

MG Motor India entered the EV space as a catalyst for the country’s nascent EV revolution by providing a complete, end-to-end ecosystem. The overwhelming response that we have received for the ZS EV validates our faith and highlights how ready the consumer market is for a new-age EV proposition when provided with the best-in-class product and infrastructure. We are compelled to announce a temporary halt in bookings, yet again, and would like to thank our customers for their belief in the motto of #ChangeWhatYouCan.
