MG Marvel X pure electric SUV spotted in India for the Auto Expo 2020

MG is planning to display 14 models at the Auto Expo 2020 and one of the models, the MG Marvel X has been spotted in India. Sold as a Roewe, MG’s sister brand, in China, the Marvel X is fully electric SUV that MG could be thinking to launch in India.

The Marvel X is powered by two electric motors, one each over the front and rear axles and is available in two-wheel drive and all-wheel-drive versions. The all-wheel-drive makes 297 hp and 665 Nm of torque while the two-wheel-drive offers 183 hp and 410 Nm. Powering the motors is a 52.5 kWh battery pack that can be fully charged in 8.5 hours using a regular AC charger. With a DC fast charger, the battery can be charged to 80% in 40 minutes.

In its AWD form, the Marvel X can go from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.8 seconds and has a top speed of 180 km/h. While the travel range is 370 km for the AWD, it extends to 403 km in the 2WD form. The Marvel X gets a long list of features that include IP67 rated water-resistant battery, intelligent parking assist, intelligent cruise control, driving assistance systems, automatic emergency brake, Nappa leather upholstery and more.

The Baojun brand’s E200 micro EV will be showcased as the MG E200 at the Auto Expo. MG will be displaying cars from SAIC’s Roewe, Maxus and Baojun brands at the show with its badge.

MG’s Auto Expo display will include 6-seater MG Hector, Roewe Vision-i MPV, the Maxus D90 SUV and the Maxus G10 MPV. MG Motor India is riding on the success of its first two launches, MG Hector and MG ZS EV. The company recently launched the ZS EV priced from Rs 20.88 lakh ex-showroom and has a range of 340 km on a single charge. The electric SUV will be available in Delhi/NCR, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Bangalore, and Hyderabad initially and has recorded 2,409 bookings.
