MG India delivers its first ZS EV to Energy Efficiency Services Ltd

MG India has started deliveries of its electric SUV, ZS EV and delivered the first ZS EV to EESL (Energy Efficiency Services Ltd), the energy service company of the Government of India. Earlier this month, the company launched the SUV priced at Rs 20.88 lakh for the Excite variant and Rs 23.58 lakh for the Exclusive variant ex-showroom New Delhi, to an amazing response, with 2,409 bookings.

The ZS EV is driven by a front-mounted electric motor, powered by a 44.5 kWh battery pack and sends out 105 kW and 353 Nm of torque. The electric SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.5 seconds and can achieve a top speed of 140 km/h. The e-SUV travels a distance of 340 km in a single charge (ARAI test conditions) and the battery can be charged up to 80% in 50 minutes through a 50 kW fast charger that has been installed across 5 cities at MG dealerships.

We are grateful for the government’s support and are delighted that the ZS EV, our first EV product in the country, is finding traction even amongst government departments. The launch of the ZS EV aligns with the government’s commitment to promoting clean technologies and green mobility in the country.

Gaurav Gupta, Chief Commercial Officer, MG Motor India

The future of mobility in India is electric and sustainable. It is heartening to see that private companies such as MG Motor India are taking strong measures to complement the government’s EV vision. EV adoption brings many benefits, such as lower levels of air pollution and less dependence on costly fossil fuels. Our purchase of five ZS EVs is in line with our commitment to protecting the environment. We will be exploring opportunities to further expand this fleet and reduce our carbon footprint.
