Watch the sprightly 0-60 kmph acceleration of the Tata Nexon Electric

Tata Motors officially unveiled the Nexon EV in December 2019 and the car is all set to launch on 28 January. Last week the company detailed the handy ZConnect app that will come with the Nexon EV. Today we have the video of Tata Nexon EV doing the sprint to 60 km/h courtesy 91Wheels’s Instagram page.

Uploaded by Bunny Punia, the clip shows the Nexon EV, in SPORT mode, hitting the 60 km/h mark in a rush and continues to accelerate to 110 km/h before retarding. Being an EV, the torque is available instantly without the lag (and the drama) of an internal combustion engine. Officially, the Nexon EV can go from a standstill to 100 km/h in 9.9 seconds.

The Tata Nexon EV will be the first car to come with Tata’s Ziptron EV technology. The electric SUV will be powered by a 30.2 kWh lithium-ion battery that drives a 129 PS permanent-magnet AC motor. The Nexon EV produces 95 kW of power and 245 Nm of instant torque.

The battery has a range of 312 km (ARAI-certified) per charge and can be charged to 80% in just 60 minutes with a DC fast charger, while taking about 9 hours from a household socket. The Nexon EV gets two drive mode options – DRIVE & SPORT and features such as regenerative braking, Hill Ascent & Descent Assist and Smart Regen with Creep feature. There’s a standard warranty of 8 years/1,60,000 km on the Nexon’s battery and motor.
