JBM Auto has launched two electric buses – Eco-Life e9 and Eco-Life e12 – at the Auto Expo 2020. Being a Zero Emission Vehicle, Eco-Life vehicle saves around 1000 equivalent tons of carbon dioxide in 10 years of operation and 350,000 litres of diesel.
The Eco-Life series comes equipped with an electronic braking system and an advanced electric drive system. Aimed at intra-city operators, these electric buses come with fast-charging Lithium batteries that can run up to150 km in a single charge.
According to Mr Nishanth Aryta, Executive Director, JBM Group, the ECO-LIFE e9 expands the company’s electric bus portfolio further. The ECO-LIFE series has been designed and localized keeping the Govt.’s Make in India vision. JBM Auto has also conceptualized a concept, Well to Wheel, for e-mobility in-house to come up with solutions that will range from clean energy generation to green energy consumption.
We have a long journey to ensure zero-emission public transport solutions and electric buses would be a catalyst. Today countries across the globe are embarking on creating sustainable EV policies and if India achieves the FAME-II targets it will be amongst the top 3 countries in the world terms of a number of e-vehicles.
