Hyundai Nexo spotted on its way to the Auto Expo 2020

Hyundai’s fuel cell electric vehicles, Hyundai Nexo has been spotted on its way to the Auto Expo 2020 this week. Nexo is Hyundai’s second fuel cell model after ix35 and is also the first Hyundai model to be offered with autonomous driving technology.

Nexo gets Hyundai’s signature Cascading grille, triangular headlamps, full LED DRLs and integrated flush door handles. Inside, the dashboard has a horizontal layout with two LCD displays – 7-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system in the middle.

The Nexo’s fuel cell powertrain makes a maximum power of 163 PS and a peak torque of 395 Nm. The car can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.2 seconds and reaches a top speed of 179 km/h. Nexo offers one of the best range within the fuel cell and EV car segment of 666 km.

Nexo offers a shift-by-wire system that allows engaging gears and the electric parking brake with a button. Also available is an adjustable regenerative braking system that can be adjusted through the paddle shifts behind the steering wheel.

Other features of the Nexon include Krell sound system, power tailgate, Blind-spot View Monitor and Lane Following Assist. While the Blind-spot View Monitor shows drivers on a central cluster screen the rear left and right and side views of the NEXO using cameras, the Lane Following Assist system assists the driver by adjusting the steering to keep the car in the centre of the lane.

Hyundai Nexo also gets the Remote Smart Parking Assist system. This allows the car to autonomously park or retrieve itself from a parking space with or without a driver in the car. The RSPA system can automatically park the car both in perpendicular and parallel parking situations

There are no details about the launch of Nexo in India but the Auto Expo 2020 should give out some answers. Stay tuned in.
