Chinese company Cineco, part of the Zongshen Industrial Group, sells a Honda Super Cub-inspired electric commuter in its home market – the Cineco B1 Blues or the e-Classic. The Honda Super Cub, which is the world’s most produced two-wheeler with cumulative sales exceeding well over 100 million units worldwide since the 1950s, itself isn’t available with a pure electric powertrain.
The Honda Superb Cub-inspired Cineco B1/e-Classic is 1,880 mm long, 680 mm wide and 1,020 mm tall, and it has a 1,235 mm wheelbase. The no-frills electric scooter weighs just 68 kg (without battery), but its payload capacity is good – 150 kg. It can be purchased with a 0.8 kW motor or a 1.0 kW motor. There are two battery pack options: 60 V 20 Ah (1.2 kWh) Lead-acid and 60 V 20 Ah (1.2 kWh) Lithium-ion.
The Cineco B1 Blues comes in three variants. The base variant uses the 0.8 kW motor and the 1.2 kWh Lead-acid battery pack. The middle variant has the 0.8 kW motor and the 1.2 kWh Lithium-ion battery pack. The top-end variant features the 1.0 kW motor and the 1.2 kWh Lithium-ion battery pack where the battery is detachable.
The base and middle variants have a top speed of 45 km/h, while the top-end variant can go slightly faster – 48 km/h. The base variant’s range hasn’t been listed, while the middle and top-end variants can take you a distance of 80 km and 108 km respectively on a full charge.
The Cineco B1 Blues is available in light blue, orange, red and white colours. Prices start at CNY 6,288, which converts to around INR 70,000 or USD 956. LED headlamp, LED turn indicators, LED tail lamp, USB charging interface, split-type seat cushion, chrome plated body trimmings, aluminium alloy back seat plate, 16-inch spoke wheels and EBS electronic auxilliary braking system are some of its features.
