Electric two-wheeler brand Gemopai will soon be launching its first social distancing mini electric scooter, Miso, in India and has teased the scooter.
The Miso, if it is of good quality and reliability, could be ideal for last-mile transportation in the post-COVID world where social distancing is a must. With just a single seat and since there is no need to visit the fuel station, Gemopai believes this to be the apt scooter for this time. The bodywork on the Miso is very minimal with no panels and the no-frills design is expected to be available in two variants – one with a rear loading carrier for commercial applications and one without for personal buyers. The Miso is expected to receive an adjustable hexagonal headlamp, alloy wheels and multiple body colours.
The mini scooter is expected to come with a 1 kWh battery and a 200-250 W electric motor, with a range of 45-50 km per charge and a top speed of up to 30 km/h. The scooter would also be getting a digital instrument cluster and a mobile app to access information like battery charge status, range, nearest charging station, etc. Expected to be priced around Rs 40,000, all components of Gemopai Miso will be manufactured and assembled in India except for the battery, which is imported.
Gemopai is a joint venture between Goreen E-Mobility based in New Delhi and Opai Electric of China, and currently has two electric scooters in its portfolio – Astrid Lite and Ryder. The Astrid Lite is powered by a 1.7 kWh battery and has a range of 100 km per charge. It has a top speed of 65 km/h and three riding modes – Economy, City and Sports. Other features include a digital instrument cluster, front disc brake, LED lights and USB port. The Ryder has a 24 Ah battery and a 250 W motor, and has a range of 90 km in a single charge.
