eMG 6 PHEV – Auto Expo 2020 Live

MG Motor India has unveiled the eMG 6 PHEV (plug-in hybrid) at the 2020 Auto Expo. Based on the Roewe i6 platform, this first plug-in hybrid of MG was first revealed at the Guangzhou Auto Show 2017.

Built on the second-gen MG 6, the eMG 6 PHEV comes with a liftback body style swooping down the rear. The plug-in hybrid gets a SAIC internet connectivity system as well as voice control feature. 

Coming to the eMG 6 PHEV interiors, it features a twin-screen layout with a 10.1-inch display infotainment system and 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and MGPilot ADAS (Advanced Active Driving Assistance System). Electronic parking brake, automatic parking system as well as a remote control driving system (optional) helps drivers to have control over speed via an app.

The car is powered by a 1.0-litre three-cylinder engine and electric mill that together churns out a peak power of 228hp and 622 Nm torque. The eMG 6 PHEV fuel consumption is 1.5-litres petrol in 100 km. In electric mode, it offers a decent range of 53 km. The car’s hybrid system has a 9.1 kWh IP67-rated battery which meets the UL2580 standard of the United States.

Besides, the eMG 6 PHEV offers real-time data access to the drivers, cabin setting, GPS, Artificial Intelligence voice control and more. The all-new eMG 6 PHEV rivals the likes of Hyundai Elantra, Honda Civic and Skoda Octavia. 

Apart from eMG 6 PHEV, the British automotive manufacturer has revealed the six-seater MG Hector Plus, Maxus D90, Maxus G10, Baojun E200, MG HS, Roewe i-Vision, HS SUV and Roewe Marvel X Electric at Auto Expo 2020. In total, MG Motor showcased 14 cars, including electric, internet-connected and autonomous cars.
