EeVe to unveil electric sports bike and a retro scooter at Auto expo 2020

EeVe India, a part of Omjay EV Limited, will be unveiling two new electric vehicles – an electric sports bike and an electric retro scooter – at the Auto Expo 2020. This will be the first Auto Expo appearance for EeVe and the company will also be showcasing its other products.

EeVe will be unveiling them on February 6th, 2020 at the expo. The Odisha based start-up was founded in 2018 by Harsh Didwania and has launched four electric scooters so far. EVW had an exclusive interaction with Mr Didwania about EeVe India’s plans and products.

Talking about the electric retro scooter, Mr Didwania said that the scooter will come with a 5 year warranty and would the design and ergonomics will be very different than regular scooters. Other features also include GPS and swappable battery. EeVe has an assembly plant that has an annual capacity of 250,000 vehicles and the company will be completing the expansion of the plant soon, which will take the capacity to 500,000 units. EeVe is also building a battery assembly plant in Odisha that is expected to be operational by 2021.

The company’s flagship model, Xeniaa, is powered by a 60V 20AH Lithium-ion battery and a 250W Bosch Motor, while it takes 3 to 4 hours to be charged completely. This is the same powertrain that is fitted in EeVe’s another model, 4U.

EeVe’s other two models, Your and Wind, are powered by Lead Acid batteries. EeVe has equipped its line-up of e-scooters with features such as keyless entry, anti-theft mechanism, USB port and bottle holder.

EeVe’s two new models are also expected to be equipped with premium features like full LED lighting, Bluetooth connectivity, geo-fencing etc. The retro scooter will be able to achieve a top speed of 80 km/h while the electric sports bike could get a top speed of 120 km/h.
