In line with its vision to electrify its entire compact van range from 2021, Citroen rolled out the e-Jumpy EV last year and has now revealed the e-Jumpy Hydrogen, which becomes the newest addition to its carmaker’s popular range of Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV). Equipped with fuel cell and rechargeable batteries, the e-Jumpy Hydrogen, whose deliveries are slated to commence later this year, will become the first-ever Citroen to be powered by this form of energy.
Citroen has announced the e-Jumpy is now the leader in its segment in the French market. From January to June 2021, the e-Jumpy led the market as the number one electric light commercial vehicle with a 43.6 % share.
Design
On the outside, the e-Jumpy panel van differentiates itself from the diesel versions through a charging flap on the front left fender that is within easy reach of the driver. Another difference arises out of the ‘e’ badges placed on the right rear door and on the front fenders. The e-Jumpy is available in 3 sizes – XS (4.60 m length with 50 kWh battery pack), M (4.95 m in length with 50 kWh or 75 kWh battery options) and XL (5.30 m in length with 50 kWh or 75 kWh battery options). A standard height of 1.90 m helps the e-Jumpy access all car parks.

The electric Citroen Jumpy comes with an updated 7-inch touchscreen infotainment unit that offers an “Energy” option in its menu to give the user access to electric features such as energy flow, consumption statistics and delayed charging. Moreover, the e-Jumpy comes with MyCitroen App and Free2Move Service App that enable users to easily monitor charging levels and nearby charging stations. The touchscreen unit even provides data on real-time traffic conditions. The updated driver assistance system offers 13 features such as lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring system and traffic sign recognition. The standard safety suite includes an automatic emergency call on the deployment of airbags and an SOS button in case an occupant is unwell.
Based on the equipment level, the e-Jumpy is available in four versions –
Control – Comes with essentials such as RD6 MP3 BlueTooth radio, electric heated rear-view mirrors and electric handbrake.
Club – Offers all the equipment of the Control version along with parking sensors.
Driver – Designed for the long haul, this version gets all the equipment of the control version along with DAB (Digital Audio Broadcasting) radio and the LDW Pack (Lane-Departure Warning, driver attention alert, intelligent beam headlights, enhanced speed limit recognition).
Cityvan – Designed for city use, this version offers additional equipment in the form of DAB radio, Top Rear Vision function and hands-free access and start.
Specifications
The Citroen e-Jumpy offers a maximum output of 100 kW/136 hp & 260Nm, which makes it capable to achieve a top speed of 81 mph. The electric van is available in two driving ranges. The L1 and L2 body shapes come with a 37 kWh battery that offers a 124 miles driving range in the WLTP cycle. Meanwhile, the L2S, L3 and L4 chassis-cab body variants have a 70kWh battery that offers a driving range of 211 miles in the WLTP cycle.
The e-Jumpy Hydrogen will offer a range of 249 miles. It will carry 700-bar hydrogen tanks with a storage capacity of 4.4 kg.
