When KTM AG, Bajaj’s Austrian partner, wanted to take the Chetak electric to Europe, Bajaj is believed to have turned down the offer to concentrate on the Indian market.
The Chetak’s sole rival is the Ather 450, with competitors like Yamaha and Suzuki still testing products or studying the Indian e-scooter market.
Bajaj Chetak Electric is powered by a 4 kW motor and has a range of 85 km in Sport mode and 95 km in Eco mode. It will come with a warranty of 3 year/50,000 km.

Bajaj Auto unveiled the Chetak Electric in the month of October, resurrecting the iconic scooter brand in the EV avatar after 14 years.
The electric scooter comes with a special Emergency Rescue System, which bypasses all the sensors in case of a breakdown allowing the rider to reach the nearest service station.
While the price has not been announced, expect it at around INR 85,000 (ex-showroom) when it goes on sale in Q1 2020.
