Bgauss B8 & A2 electric scooters launch this month [Update]

Update – RR Global, an 800 million USD corporation, forayed into the electric two-wheeler segment launching its products under the ‘BGAUSS’ brand. Bgauss has now announced a no-cost EMI payment option for its electric scooters.

Bgauss has partnered with MoneyTap to offer EMI finance scheme at 0% rate for the Bgauss electric scooters. The company says that the B8 and A2 models, in all their variants, can be purchased with this scheme.

For those hearing MoneyTap for the first time, it’s an app-based credit service that is offered in partnership with banks. Depending on the user’s profile, the app selects the bank at which the user has the highest chance of getting the credit application approved. The user can borrow anywhere between INR 3,000 to INR 5 lakh depending on the credit limit set by the bank. The user has to pay the interest only on the used amount.

BGAUSS has inaugurated its production facility that makes its two electric scooters on July 29. The image shared by Sumeet Kabra, the director at RR Global, on social media shows the B8 on the assembly conveyor at the plant situated in Chakan, Maharashtra.

July 16, 2020 –

BGAUSS has started taking bookings for the B8 and A2 electric scooters via its website with a deposit of INR 3,000. Moreover, the company has disclosed the prices of these upcoming electric scooters.

The Bgauss B8 and Bgauss A2 electric scooters are available in blue, white, red and grey colours. Their deliveries will begin in August 2020, starting with Pune, Navi Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad and Bengaluru.

BGAUSS, the electric vehicle brand of electrical equipment giant RR Global, is the latest entry in the Indian EV scene and after their announcement last month, the company has virtually unveiled their products, B8 and A2 electric scooters.

To be launched in August, Bgauss’s new products are offered in several variants and will cover the high-speed electric scooter (B8) and low-speed electric scooter (A2) segments.

BGAUSS B8

The B8 electric scooter is powered by 1900 W electric motor that makes 94.6 Nm of torque and is available with two battery options – 25.2 Ah removable lithium battery or a 22.3 Ah lead acid battery. Both the versions get three riding modes that offer up to a range of 78 km and a top speed of 50 km/h. The B8 offers features like LED projector headlamp, DRLs, digital dashboard, touch start button, remote lock/unlock, CBS braking system, front and rear disc brakes, find your scooter, boost speed switch, anti-theft alarm and reverse mode. The scooter provides 18 L of under-seat storage. The lithium battery can be charged to full capacity in three hours while the lead acid battery takes seven to eight hours.

BGAUSS A2

The Bgauss A2 electric scooter comes under the low-speed category with a top speed of 25 km/h and offers range of up to 110 km/h. Just like the B8, the A2 is available in lithium (1.29 kWh) and lead acid (22.3 Ah) battery packs and three riding modes. Driven by a 240 watt electric motor, the A2 also gets front and rear disc brake, anti-theft alarm, remote lock/unlock and find your scooter features. The A2’s lithium battery can be charged in 2 hours and 15 minutes and the lead acid battery pack takes seven to eight hours.
