New Benling Icon high-speed electric scooter spied on test [Video]

Benling is working on a high-speed variant of the Icon electric scooter. YouTube channel Bunny Punia has uploaded a spy video showing the new Benling Icon high-speed electric scooter undergoing road testing.

Currently, the Benling Icon is available in two variants. The base variant has a 60 V, 20 Ah (1.2 kWh) lead-acid battery pack, and the top-end variant uses a 60 V, 22 Ah (1.3 kWh) Lithium-ion battery pack. The former features a 2.5 A onboard charger and takes 7-8 hours for a full charge. The top-end variant has a 6 A onboard charger takes 4 hours for a full charge. Both have a 0.25 kW motor and can achieve a top speed of 25 km/h, while their range varies from 70-75 km.

The Benling Icon seen in the spy video was being ridden at 63 km/h and a significantly more powerful motor could be onboard the high-speed variant. It appears to have the same design as the low-speed variants and is likely finished in the same Pure White colour that is one of the paint options of the latter.

Key features of the Benling Icon low-speed include LED headlamp with semi-circular LED DRL, LED tail lamp with smoked glass, push start/stop, colour digital instrument console, hazard warning light function, and mobile charging point. The Benling Icon high-speed may have features in addition to these.

While the low-speed variants of the Benling Icon retail at around INR 50,000-60,000 (ex-showroom), the high-speed variant’s price could be close to INR 70,000 (ex-showroom) positioned well below the Benling Aura.
