Ampere Electric, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Greaves Cotton Limited, today launched its most expensive offering yet, the Magnus Pro electric scooter, priced at Rs 73,990 in Bangalore, targeted at urban and semi-urban regions.
The Magnus Pro is powered by a 1.8 kWh battery offering a range of 75 to 80 km per charge and is driven by a 1.2 kW electric motor that is capable of taking the vehicle to a top speed of 55 km/h. The battery can be charged to full capacity in five to six hours with a 7.5A charger. Features of the Magnus Pro include LED headlamp, digital dashboard, detachable battery, large storage space, USB charger, remote entry, combined brake system, anti-theft alarm and Find My Scooter feature.
Ampere has stated that the scooter can travel up to 100 km in a single charge in the Eco mode, can go from 0 to 40 km/h in 10 seconds and costs only 15 paise per km to run. The Magnus Pro is only available in Bangalore and will soon be offered in other parts of the country.
Mr Nagesh Basavanhalli, MD and CEO, Greaves Cotton Limited, said that the new Magnus e-scooter is an important milestone for the company to strengthen Ampere’s position in the last mile mobility segment and with the current increased shift towards personal mobility vehicles post COVID-19.

He also said that the Magnus Pro has been designed and tested in various conditions for superior ride and a comfortable experience.
