New flagship Ampere electric scooter teased ahead of June 15 launch

Ampere Electric Vehicles has teased a new electric scooter that will be launched on June 15th 2020. The teaser says ‘extra performance’ hinting that the new scooter could be a high-speed model and perhaps the flagship, positioned above the Ampere Zeal which retails at Rs. 66,949 (Ex. Showroom Bengaluru, post subsidy).

The company currently has a decent range of electric scooters sold through over 200 exclusive dealerships across the country, and recently started sales in Nepal. Most of the company’s electric scooters are low-speed variety with the Ampere Zeal being the only high-speed scooter, and a popular model in its category. The Zeal is powered by a 60 V/30 Ah lithium ion battery and driven by a 1200 W motor. It has a range of up to 75 km per charge and can go up to a maximum speed of 55 km/h. The battery can be charged to full capacity in six hours and the scooter is equipped with features such as regenerative braking, LED DRLs and headlamp, detachable battery, digital display, tubeless tyres, dual riding modes – Economy and Speed. The Zeal comes with a 3 year/20,000 km warranty.

Recently, Ampere Electric celebrated its 12th anniversary where it has announced benefits of up to Rs 5,000 along with other additional benefits including extended warranty up to 5 years in high-speed models and up to 3 years in other variants at a nominal price. Customers can avail 1+5 years complete vehicle insurance cover at an attractive price. This offer is available till June 15th 2020.

Ampere has also launched START (Supporting Traders to Activate and Reignite Trade), a special trader outreach program to assist small traders and entrepreneurs in post-lockdown business resumption. The program helps traders, especially from small towns, to jumpstart their business with a low-contact, home-delivery business model with easy access to Ampere e-scooters and credit assistance with financial institutions.
