Ampere Electric opens 10 new dealerships; crosses 60,000 sales milestone

Ampere Electric has opened 10 new dealerships and has crossed the 60,000 units sales milestone.

Ampere has stated that it has received over 900 new dealership enquiries following an upsurge post the easing of the COVID-19 lockdown and it has accelerated the expansion drive. Ampere is celebrating its 12th anniversary this year and is offering several offers for its products.

Sanjeev, COO, Ampere Electric Vehicles has said that the Ampere Zeal and Reo have become one of the top selling models in the respective price segments and the company is working to accelerate the growth of EVs in India. Ampere recently expanded its range in the upper-end with the launch of the Magnus Pro high-speed electric scooter, priced at Rs 73,990 ex-showroom Bangalore.

Ampere Electric introduces ‘book online now & pay later’ offer

Coimbatore-based Ampere Electric Vehicles, part of the e-Mobility division of Greaves Cotton, has introduced a ‘book online now and pay later’ offer for the customers, who can now book the brand’s electric scooters online for a nominal amount and pay the rest at the time of delivery.

Once the lockdown is over and the market is open, Ampere will begin contactless deliveries and the scooters will be sanitized before being handed over to the customers. The offer is also made available to fleet customers and delivery services, who are involved in delivering essential services to the public. For now, the offer is available in Bangalore, Pune, Chennai, New Delhi and Mumbai, with extension to other cities to follow soon.

Ampere has 200+ dealers & the Ampere Zeal is the best-selling electric scooter

Ampere currently has 200+ exclusive dealerships across India and has sold more than 50,000 electric scooters. The company is claiming a 20 per cent market share and the Ampere Zeal is one of the fast moving models in the high-speed electric scooter segment. The Zeal is powered by a 60 V/ 30 Ah lithium-ion battery and driven by a 1200 W BLDC motor. The electric scooter has a top speed of 50 to 55 km/h, offers a range of 70 to 75 km/h and can be charged to full capacity in 6 hours. Other features include regenerative braking, digital display, LED headlamps, detachable battery and two riding modes – Economy and Speed.

Ampere’s latest launch was the Reo Elite low-speed electric scooter that is equipped with a 48 V, 20 Ah lead acid battery and a 250 W electric motor. The Reo Elite offers a range of up to 60 km in a single charge and comes with features such as digital instrument cluster, USB charging point, dual shock absorbers and more.

In the beginning of 2020, Ampere Electric announced a partnership with Bigbasket to provide custom fit electric scooters for the latter’s delivery fleet in five metro cities – Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi NCR, Mumbai and Pune.
